Pendant Necklace

Supplies: Chain of your choice
Two sets of pliers
Wire cutters
Wire of your choice
4 open jump rings
1 lobster clasp
Pendant of choice

Here is a chart explaining wire gauges. I used 20 gauge, it is a nice standard size.

Also a chart on plier tips. Round nose are my most used and are perfect for pretty much any jewelry making. It is also good to invest in some nicer pliers that don't have ridges. They can leave marks on the metal. In my photos I am using a cheaper set that do have ridges. So I need to take my own advice. :) But if you are just starting out it may be best to get a cheaper set to experiment with.

1. Put the wire through the pendant and cut the wire leaving about the same amount on both sides. It is really just about guessing what you think it best. But leaving a little more is always nice since you can cut it down if you need too.

2. Take your round nose pliers and bend the wire inward.

3. This is what the wire will look like bend inward. Repeat for the other side.

4. I used a necklace I already own to measure the amount of chain I needed. Cut two pieces of chain the same length.

5. Open a jump ring by using both pliers and pulling in opposite directions.(Be gentle)

6. Place one end of the chain on the jump ring and on one side of the pendant.

7. Close the jump ring securely by bending the two sides together. Make sure there is no gap in the jump ring. Repeat to other side of pendant.

8.Open another jump ring and place the lobster clasp onto the jump ring. Place jump ring on the other end of the chain strand and close securely. Repeat with other jump ring on the other chain.

Here is the final product!!

Here are two other necklaces I made using other pendants. (You may recognize the small silver one that I wore in one of my OOTD)
I hope you enjoy your new necklace!

Remember what is most important...

It's not having everything go right; it's facing whatever goes wrong.
It's not being without fear;
it's having the determination to go on in spite of it.
Remember that every day ends
and bring a new tomorrow.
Love what you do, do the best you can,
and always remember how much you are loved.

Nails of the Week-Anxious for fall

I don't know about you, but I am so ready for fall. I don't care that it is still 80+ degrees outside, I want to wear boots and big chunky sweaters and scarves. Of course, that would be pretty stupid to do since it is still so hot. But my nails don't care about the seasons or the weather. So I decided to paint my nails a fall inspired color. I love painting my nails all different colors and adding fun stickers or designs to them. Of course, they are still modest to say the least, compared to some designs I have seen on celebrities this past year. But everyone is a rebel in their own way. :)

I got my nail polish at a new asian store that just opened recently. Everything in the store in $1.50! It's pretty awesome. It is called Kleancolor in the color Sapphire. The nail stickers are also from the same store but the name is in japanese so I don't know what they are called. But you can get nail stickers many other places like CVS or Target.

I am also looking forward to painting my nails are dark burgundy color(or what the fashion world likes to call Ox blood, which kinda creeps my out) So look forward to that in a future post!

Hope your having a awesome day!

Bottle Cap Magnets

Supplies: Glue dots or glue gun
Bottle caps
Scissors
Magnets
Stamps or stickers
Ink pad(if using stamps)
Tip:I recommend buying fake bottle caps from your craft store because some real bottle caps have a rubber lining that makes it difficult for the glue dot to stick to. But using a glue gun should solve that problem.

1. Pick desired background paper and begin cutting into a circle. Start out with a larger circle so you can continue to cut down until the circle fits inside the bottle cap.(Doesn't have to be perfect)

2. Choose your desired embellishment and stick to paper.

3. Stick the background paper to the glue dot.(Do not try to peel the glue dot off of the roll, it will not easily come off)

4. Peel paper off making sure the glue dot is adhered to the background paper.

5. Repeat step 3 with the magnet and stick to the back of the bottle cap.

And you're done!
I hope you enjoyed this easy and fun craft project!!
